MESSAGE OF THE WEEK
Dear Parishioners and Friends, “Do you think the Magi were disappointed after all the calculations, the long journey, the tales of the great king, and then the star leads to a baby in a humble home, not in a palace nor a great temple? Do you think all their anticipation and the years of build-up left them feeling somewhat let down?”Baptism is the sacrament of belonging. Through Baptism we become heirs of the promise of God and members and the Church, the Body of Christ. At the end of the a Christmas season we celebrate our identity, like Jesus’ own identity: deeply loved by God. Christmas should have convinced us of that.
From the Pastor
On this last day of the Christmas Season, the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, I wanted to share the quote from theologian Howard Thurman that I used in last weekend’s homily: “When the song of the angels is stilled, when the star in the sky is gone, when the kings and princes are home, the work of Christmas begins: find the lost, heal the broken, feed the hungry, rebuild the nations, bring peace among people, make music in the heart.” Now the work of Christmas begins. Let us be more intentional in this new year of 2025 to be about the work of the Lord.Ministries Updates
