MESSAGE OF THE WEEK
Dear Parishioners and Visitors,
“Depart from me for I am a sinful man”.”(Lk.51-11) A strange reaction from someone who just got the biggest catch of fish ever!
Jesus called Simon Peter to follow him—sins and al. No background check—no uniform-come just as you are.
Looking beyond Peter’s flaws and warts, Jesus saw goodness and dedication. Peter, in turn, must have seen something very special about Jesus. He dropped everything to begin a new life as a disciple of Jesus.
Although not quite as dramatic, by virtue of our baptism, we too, have been called to be a disciple of Jesus. He is our teacher. We are his followers. The question for each of us is, how invested am I in wanting to learn, and to follow, the words and example of Jesus? Are we, like Peter and his co-workers James and John, willing to make Jesus the center of our life?
The fear of not being good enough was no excuse for Peter. Nor is it for us. Yet, that is a common response of some people when they are asked to serve in a ministry. Jesus does not look at our limitations. He looks at our possibilities.
Even though each time we gather at the table of the Eucharist and declare our unworthiness” “Lord. I am not worthy” our faith tells us that this Bread of Life which we receive enables us to be the disciples who bring Christ out into the world.
While we have time, let us be Christ for others.

From the Pastor
On Monday someone shared with me a message that a parishioner had posted on our Saint Paul Facebook Page. Now I want to share that message with you: “Jack and I went to mass this weekend (two Sundays in a row; I’m on a roll), and I was filled with hope for the first time in weeks as I looked around and saw our diverse congregation. There are still a lot of good people fighting the fight and trying our darndest to follow the teachings of Christ.”Donation and Service Opportunities
