Outreach to our Vulnerable Sisters and Brothers Our parishioners who are most vulnerable are a priority for our Historic Saint Paul Parish Family. Procuring basic necessities and prescriptions can be physically challenging and dangerous for them.
The less vulnerable and stronger members of our Christian community are invited to discern if they are called to serve others so that we might comprise a roster of those willing to serve the more vulnerable by grocery shopping for them and picking up their prescriptions.
If you are willing to be part of this roster to serve, please send an email to our parish office at
saintpaul@cdlex.org or call the office at 859.252.0738 and leave a message with your contact information .
If you are part of our most vulnerable population and need assistance, please email our parish office at
saintpaul@cdlex.org or call the office at 859.252.0738 and leave a message with your contact information.
In order to sustain social distancing, arrangements must be madeso that no vulnerable member of our parish comes within 6 feet of those serving them. To that end, arrangements must be made by those being served as to payment/reimbursement (rather than prepaying online) to leave the payment outside the door where those serving will leave the delivery. You can negotiate the payment and delivery via telephone when both persons speak.
SinceCOVID-19 is spread by those without symptoms it is imperative and crucial to Christian charity, that social distancing is observed by those serving and those being served.
Parish Office Will Close
Our Parish office will close at 4:30pm on Friday. 20 March, and will remain closed until further notice for the health of our staff, visitors and parishioners. Your parish staff will be working from their homes so that social distancing may be observed. The office phone will be monitored, you may leave a message 859.252.0738.
In an Emergency
For sacramentalemergencies Father Richard can be reached at 859.420.4182. For non emergencies, you can reach Father Richard by calling the parish office at 859.252.0738 and leaving a message.
Weddings
Weddings that are already scheduled may be celebrated with no more than 10 people, including the celebrant in those 10. Social distancing must be observed in the church for the 10 attending, conforming to federal and Commonwealth directives. Only a wedding Service will be offered while restrictions are in place. Rescheduling your Nuptial Mass when federal and Commonwealth restrictions on gatherings are lifted is preferred and safer for all involved. We will make every effort to accommodate when rescheduling.
Meeting on Church Campus
ALL groups who meet on our parish campus (Church building, Brossart House and Ave Maria Building) must find alternative meeting space until diocesan, federal, and Commonwealth restrictions on gatherings are lifted. This is effective immediately and there are no exceptions.
Weekend Mass
Mass for the Fourth Sunday of Lent will be available on our parish Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/stpaullex/ as well as on the live Facebook feed on our parish website
https://saintpaul.cdlex.org/ at 4pm tomorrow, Saturday, 21 March, 2020. And may be viewed at your convenience anytime after 4 pm tomorrow.
At the end of Mass, until the threat of illness is eradicated, we will have a special prayer at the Altar of Our Lady of Guadalupe, asking Our Lady’s intercession. Below you will find the prayers in English and Spanish so that you might pray together with us.
Mother, under your protection we place ourselves,
our parish,
our city,
our Commonwealth,
our nation,
all nations,
and our entire world.
To whom shall we turn if not you, our Mother?
Pray for us to Jesus.
At the wedding at Cana your word so moved your Son’s heart
that the miraculous happened:
nature responded to His word
and water turned into wine.
Speak a word to Jesus for we who live in fear and danger;
ask your Son to speak a miraculous word to nature once again
to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Mother, when you appeared to Juan Diego
You said:
“Hear me and understand well, my son,
that nothing should frighten or grieve you.
Let not your heart be disturbed.
Do not fear that sickness,
nor any other sickness or anguish.
Am I not here, who is your Mother?”
Stay with us, Mother.
Help us, help we pray.
Amen

Madre, bajo tu protección nos ponemos,
nuestra parroquia
nuestra ciudad,
nuestro estado
nuestra nación,
todas las naciones,
y nuestro mundo entero.
¿A quién recurriremos si no a ti, nuestra Madre?
Ruega por nosotros a Jesús.
En la boda en Caná, su palabra conmovió tanto el corazón de su Hijo que sucedió lo milagroso;
No temas esa
enfermedad, ni ninguna otra enfermedad o angustia. No estoy aqui, que soy tu madre?
Quédate con nosotros, madre.
Ayúdanos, ayudamos a orar.
Amén
