Dear Parishioners and Friends of Historic Saint Paul Parish,
On this Memorial Day, on behalf of Sister Clara and the staff, I write to wish you and yours a safe and blessed holiday.
Today we recall the heroic love of women and men who have given their lives for us; we remember them with gratitude. I urge you to spend a few minutes in prayer and remember those who gave their all with tremendous love.
In closing, I share these words of Thornton Wilder:
"Soon we shall die and all memory of those we have known will have left the earth, and we ourselves shall be loved for a while and forgotten. But the love will have been enough; all those impulses of love return to the love that made them. Even memory is not necessary for love. There is a land of the living and a land of the dead and the bridge is love, the only survival, the only meaning."
Let us remain in the heart and love of Jesus,
Fr. Richard
