ORIGINAL EVENT DETAILS:
Dear parishioners and friends,
On January 14, in the Ave Maria building, at 6 pm, Brother Christian Matson will be our guest. You are invited to hear Brother Christian, our Diocese of Lexington’s vowed hermit, and transgender man, speak about his journey.
This will be a respectful conversation facilitated by me, Fortunate Families, and LGBTQ+ Ministries. You are welcome to join us for two hours of conversation and encounter.
Like many of you, I will never totally understand the transgender experience but I am learning more and more, and hopefully becoming a better minister and person because of my relationships and encounters with my transgender siblings.
This is our opportunity to thank Brother Christian for his life’s witness to self-giving love and learn something about him, too.
This respectful encounter is appropriate for the entire family.
I hope to see you on January 14 at 6pm in the Ave.
Stay safe in the weather that is to come and plan on joining us on the 14. Stan "JR" Zerkowski he/him Fortunate Families, Executive Director Catholic LGBTQ+ Ministries, Director Diocese of Lexington LGBTQ Commission, Chair
