Dear parishioners and friends,
On March 11th, in the Ave Maria building, at 6 pm, Brother Christian Matson will be our guest. You are invited to hear Brother Christian, our Diocese of Lexington’s vowed hermit, and transgender man, speak about his journey.
This will be a respectful conversation facilitated by me, Fortunate Families, and LGBTQ+ Ministries. You are welcome to join us for two hours of conversation and encounter.
Like many of you, I will never totally understand the transgender experience but I am learning more and more, and hopefully becoming a better minister and person because of my relationships and encounters with my transgender siblings.
This is our opportunity to thank Brother Christian for his life’s witness to self-giving love and learn something about him, too.
This respectful encounter is appropriate for the entire family.
I hope to see you on March 11th at 6pm in the Ave. Stan "JR" Zerkowski he/him Fortunate Families, Executive Director Catholic LGBTQ+ Ministries, Director Diocese of Lexington LGBTQ Commission, Chair
