Dear Parishioners and visitors, What a wonderful world! Azaleas blooming. Trees leafing. Birds chirping. We rejoice and thank our Creator for all this natural beauty. Today’s scripture readings closely connect this earthy beauty with God’s Divine design. Peter (Acts48:8-12) identifies Jesus as the cornerstone. The rock on which our entire relationship with God rests. Peter, the man who once denied knowing Jesus, has now become firmly attached to him. He invites us to do the same. Releasing the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us, letting our words and actions reflect the gospel message of love, mercy, and justice. Remaining steadfast in our relationship with Jesus guarantees us a secure life with him here, and for all eternity! Jesus’ love for each of us is as solid as a cornerstone, and as tender as a loving, caring shepherd. Jesus, the Good Shepherd described in the gospel calls us each by name, inviting us to the table of the eucharist. Living our belief that Christ has Risen is a challenge! Fear, racial discrimination, and violence tarnish our present society. These social sins put Jesus on the cross. Now, our resurrected Jesus calls us to be steadfast followers of him, spreading the Good News that every person is created in God’s image, and that our diversity of races, religions, and gender identity make a wonderful world. While we have time, let us attach ourselves firmly to Jesus, the Cornerstone, as we work with Him to build an even more wonderful world! Sr. Clara
