Please find the following message from Bishop John regarding COVID-19 protocols:
"As Holy Week and Easter approach, it is important that we maintain all of our COVID-19 prevention protocols in place. Even as the numbers of the vaccinated increase, it is only about 25 percent of Kentuckians who are fully vaccinated. Variants of the virus pose a new threat as well.
"I know that everyone is weary of social distancing and masks, but it is not the time to become lax with precautions as there is an end more clearly in sight. We are still limited to a maximum of 60 percent of capacity in churches as long as the 6-foot distancing requirements can be met. I encourage parishes to continue to make liturgies available through livestream and provide extra liturgies for Easter if feasible and if attendance is expected to surpass what is permitted.
"Please continue to encourage people to get vaccinated and to be patient with the process for signing up for the vaccine. It is only with a greater percentage of the population vaccinated that we will be able to resume the social gatherings that we long to have.
"Thanks for the continued efforts to keep everyone safe and healthy."
