CHRISMON WORKSHOP
The next Chrismon Workshop will be on August 22nd in the Ave building from
2 - 5 p.m. Chrismons are incredibly beautiful Christmas tree ornaments made from gold and pearl beads in the shape of liturgical symbols. Come see
the display at the side entrance of church. These ornaments will become a treasured collection for St. Paul's for years to come. We will meet periodically from now till the Christmas season. Watch the bulletin for future dates. Call Mary McAllister for more info at 263-9656 .
PILGRIM VIRGIN OF FATIMA HERE AT ST. PAUL
Thursday, September 2nd after the 2 school Masses a short 15-20 minute presentation will be given by one of the “custodians”. At 6 p.m. there will be a holy hour with the rosary prayed, a 25 minute presentation and Benediction. Do mark your calendar and join us.
CATHOLIC HABITAT BUILD begins Friday, September 10th. We will build a one story brick home for Kashindi Kaumba and Nyashindi Eta and their six children at 508 Rain Garden Way (off Georgetown Road –(inside the Circle). Our parish financial contribution is $3000. We will have a special monetary drive in a few weeks. Also, we will be preparing and serving lunch two days, and as always, many workers are needed each Friday and Saturday until the house is completed. Each of us has an opportunity to participate in this wonderful outreach project. How will you contribute?
CATECHIST CONFERENCE sponsored by the Diocese, September 11th—9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Christ the King Cathedral Center. We are needing a number of Catechist’s for our religious education classes this Fall. If you feel called to help with this ministry please contact Carey Parker at 252-0738. Attending this Conference would be good preparation.
TRIP TO BYWATER FARM IN GEORGETOWN: All are invited to join us for our 2nds annual trip/outing to the wonderful Bywater Farms owned by our parishioners, the Fister family. On that Saturday, October 16, we will leave St. Paul in our individual cars right after the 4 p.m. Mass. Lots of activities: Hayrides, Rare animals, Pumpkins, bonfire/singing, a maze and more. Come join us. Mark you calendar: Saturday, October 16th.
GODLY PLAY (our program for 3-5 year old children) will resume August 22nd during the 10:00 Sunday Mass on the ground level of the Ave Maria bldg. We do need a few more helpers to keep this and the nursery running this school year!! If you can donate your time one Sunday a month, please see Kelly Curry or Carey Parker.
